About Fiapl

Driven by Partnership, Powered by Legacy

Fiat India Automobiles Private Limited (FIAPL) is more than a manufacturing company - it’s a living example of how enduring partnerships and engineering excellence can create lasting impact.

Established in 1997, FIAPL was originally born as a joint venture between Fiat Group Automobiles (now Stellantis) and Tata Motors Limited (TML) – two automotive pioneers with a shared vision to bring world-class mobility solutions to Indian roads.

Our journey began in Ranjangaon, in the Pune district of Maharashtra, where a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility was set up through joint investments by both partners. What started as a collaboration to co-produce vehicles evolved into one of India’s most capable and versatile automotive manufacturing hubs - delivering world class automobiles, engines, aggregates, and components that power both Fiat and Tata brands.

In 2021, following the global merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and Groupe PSA, the JV’s foreign partner transitioned from FCA to Stellantis, ushering in a new era of innovation and synergy. Today, the Stellantis–Tata Motors partnership continues to drive excellence through FIAPL, upholding the same spirit of trust, collaboration, and technical expertise that defined its origins.

Operating under the FIAPL banner, the Ranjangaon plant stands as a symbol of adaptability and shared success - an independent entity that manufactures and supplies high-quality vehicles and powertrains to Stellantis India and Tata Motors alike.

Our facility reflects our commitment to scale and innovation, with an installed production capacity of 2,22,000 cars and 5,80,000 powertrains per year. It remains a powerhouse of advanced manufacturing - backed by world-class practices, skilled teams, and a relentless pursuit of quality.
